Washington
D.C has been aglow this season and postseason because the Redskins, for the
first time since 2007, are playing well enough to return to the playoffs. They
won it well too by winning their division—a feat that took 13 years in the
making. The euphoria is widespread too:
RG III jerseys, hats, head-warmers, and assorted Redskins paraphernalia are
flying off the shelves. The radio
stations will not be outdone either for they have been running or airing multiple
and extended commentaries on the Redskins. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve
had to change stations or shout at the car stereo whenever I have to hear that song
“Hail to the Redskins”.
This
year, from a wild card spot, after a 10-6 season record, they will travel to
meet the Seattle Seahawks. It will be remembered that it was the Seahawks that
ended their championship rings dreams five years ago and if care is not taken
they’ll repeat history. Will the Redskins
go bye-bye this time, or will they exact revenge from the Seahawks? Stay tuned
tomorrow. The action starts by 4:30 pm ET.
